BABY MAKES THREE IS HERE!

Posted in Uncategorized

I said it would be May, and by god, it IS May!

The cover of Baby Makes Three shows a picture of Nassau, Bahamas from the water, with boats and brightly colored homes near the shore. There is a white bar across the middle of the cover with the title, and a green bar with Internationally Bestselling Author Abigail Barnette on it. Below that, the image of a couple's feet and a baby's diapered bottom and little feet between them.

Baby Makes Three (Penny’s Story): With a supportive spouse who adores her and a fresh start toward the career of her dreams, there isn’t much else that Penny Parker-Pratchett wants…except for a baby.

When a second pregnancy brings Penny and her husband, Ian, the surprise of a lifetime, it seems that his vision of domestic bliss isn’t quite what she’d thought it would be. With motherhood closer than ever before, Penny must contend not only with doubts about her maternal instincts but also with the reality that sometimes life doesn’t always go as planned…

Baby Makes Three (Ian’s Story): Married to the love of his life, owning a successful architecture firm, and living in a tropical paradise, Ian Pratchett knows he’s achieved a dream most people would envy. But one goal remains painfully out of reach—fatherhood.

When Ian and his wife, Penny, are finally blessed with a second chance at parenthood, the pain of past losses haunts him. And when their blessing turns out to be more than they bargained for, Ian must let go of the fears that have driven him to success, or risk disappointing the one woman he swore he would never let down again.

  2. Wait – you write books where the story is done first from one person’s POV and then over again from the other’s? This is a pet love of mine! Just for that, I’m going to buy them. (Well, also the fact that I love your blogging means it’s nice to be able to pay some of that back.)

I’ve got a birthday coming up in short order and have made it clear I want Kindle vouchers, Kindle vouchers, and also a few Kindle vouchers if anyone would be so kind, so, when those come through, I shall go ahead with the purchase; I’m looking forward to it!

This is actually the third set of Penny and Ian books, all of them from both PoV. I hope you have a great birthday 🙂

  3. Amazon is giving me an error about the book not being available in the US. Is that happening for anyone else?

Ok, I finished them both already. I’m ready for the next ones. (No rush but know that I really likes this one the best of the three I think) I was bummed when it ended because I want to see more!

Gah, now I have to wait until after work to read them! And all I’ll be able to think about is which one to start with – Ian or Penny?

  8. I’ve now read all six of the books so far and would really love to have a poll on how people have been reading the ‘his viewpoint, her viewpoint’ stories? It’s like the ‘how do you eat yours’ slogan. Do you read one all the way through and then the other? Or go back and forth? Do you have a system, or just take it as comes?

Here’s mine: Because I particularly like the ‘two viewpoints’ format, I’ve been doing it on a chapter-by-chapter basis; a chapter in one book, then the corresponding chapter (or chapters, if appropriate) in the other book. I started out by doing the Ian chapters first because he’s a much less likely romance novel protagonist, then moved to doing some Penny chapters first to change it up a bit, and by the end of the last book I was alternating Penny chapters first with Ian chapters first (which allows for a good rhythm; chapters A and B in one book, then B and C in the other, then C and D in the first, etc.)

Everyone else probably thinks this is far too much overthinking it. 🙂

Is this eventually going to come to Kobo via Smashwords like previous releases?
