THE EX pre-order is available!

It’s an extremely short pre-order, but it is a pre-order!

Recently it occurred to me that many people who are new-ish to the blog might not be aware that The Ex is actually the fourth book in a series. Some call it “The Boss” series, others call it “The Sophie Scaife” series. It started with The Boss, written when I was deep in the angriest phase of my 50 Shades of Grey recaps. I decided to try to write a book with a similar premise to 50SoG, but without all the problematic tropes that were popping up in 50SoG and its copycat progeny. Total lack of consent and flat out abuse cloaked in “It’s BDSM, so it’s okay!”, for example. I started writing the book and posting it a chapter at a time on a blog, and now it’s a free ebook.

So, if you’ve never read erotic romance, or you’ve been told that all erotic romance is exactly like 50 Shades of Grey, you can pick up The Boss for free at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Smashwords (as well as a few other outlets, I’m told).

Annnnd purchased. Can’t wait to read this! And just in time for my TG break from school. First order of business: a date with Neil & Sophie, a bubble bath, and a glass of wine.

It’s the most wonderful timing that this arrived in my kindle library the hour after my exams finished. Life is good. Can’t wait to devour The Ex!

    Hello!

I read your 50 Shades of Grey recaps and they were so funny. A few days ago I downloaded “The Boss” and read that too. I actually missed my stop on the train home yesterday because I was reading it. It was so good and particularly reading it directly after the 50 Shades recap, I kept thinking “Yes, Yes this is how it is supposed to be!” Great job. I’ll probably download the next one to read over Thanksgiving.

I preordered from Barnes and Noble and still can’t download the book. Is this a known problem with books published via Smashwords?

I don’t know if it’s a known problem, but B&N told customers they would be contacting me and Smashwords. As of now, I haven’t received anything, but I’m wondering if it’s because it’s the weekend. I’m really sorry for readers who are having this problem. I have contacted Smashwords, and we’ll get this worked out and get the book into your hands somehow.

Devoured already! Spent all last week re-reading the first three, too. It’s amazing how real all the characters feel, so I feel kind of like I just got done visiting friends.

Also, I’m now thoroughly convinced that Jenny is actually my Tyler Durden-esque other personality because I can’t think of any other way someone could write erotica that basically is right out of my brain.
