Here’s a Friday video

Posted in Uncategorized

I haven’t made a video in a while. Cap off your week by listening to me bitch about how much I hate my new phone and mock all of its alarm tones for thirteen minutes.

Hopefully I’ll have an Apolonia recap for you on Monday. Enjoy your weekend!

Seriously, what”s up with movies trying to convince me that Kate Winslet isn’t fucking gorgeous? She is fucking gorgeous. And I wish they’d stop airbrushing her to death in magazines. Half the time I don’t even recognise her. She doesn’t need an absolutely flawless face, magazine people. That just makes her look like a creepy alive-yet-not-human doll instead of the stunning woman she is.

Also, I recently got a new laptop and I’m still adjusting to it, so I feel your pain. I don’t like technology changes either. They’re stupid.

Every time there is an article about her somewhere it seems all the male pigs of the world come out of the woodwork to call her fat as well >:(

That’s a skewed view of women’s bodies, right there. Ugh.

Years, no decades ago, when I was a teen and mobile phones weren’t invented yet, my stereo system had an alarm function. So for a long time, I used “Stiltskin – Rest in peace” as alarm tone.
Yes, I like to be woken gently…

Now, that I am older, I need something louder, so for the rare occasions I use my phone as an alarm clock, I uploaded the first opening song from the anime “Bleach”:

That song used to be my JAM! Nice choice for a wake up tune!

4:20- the beginning of “Crazy on You” by Heart
    6:32- Time for Jeopardy!
    11:39- Little Bear

The rest of those sound like what you’d hear in an elevator or when you’re put on hold.

Also, I so get it about your dogs. We have a couple boys, one’s five months, the other’s about two, and they hump each other almost constantly. It’s either the funniest thing in the world or one of the most awkward. Just depends on when it happens and who’s around.

7:13, “morning flower” is the one my husband uses, and I swear to god that’s the Totoro song! Every morning I’m like “to-to-ro to-toro!”

I just got my first smart phone this Christmas and it’s also a samsung- so I have all those same ringtones! Mine came with morning flower (was it?) as a default and I just left it at that. I don’t like a very alarming sounding… alarm since I just wake up in a panic. But it’s perky enough to wake me up without that. Goes without saying that whatever you pick you’ll eventually hate, because it’s what’s ruining your beautiful sleep each time it goes off haha. This is why I don’t put a song or something I really like as the alarm. I do have a very awesome ringtone though that is Doctor Who themed. If you haven’t figured it out or the app store etc yet, here’s a link. It’s freeee https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.coulsontech.ringtone.drwho&hl=en

Jenny, you made me laugh with your comments about all these strange alarm tunes)) I have that problem too. These tunes are either too sweet and even more sleep providing, or too aggressive like you want to crush your phone. So for my alarm I set the song that at least I like and put the volume higher. It’s Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now by Starship, there is something very joyful and positive in this song to start the day. Actually I heard it in the movie The Skeleton Twins where Kristen Wiig and Bill Hader were dancing and singing on it))

  9. To be fair, all of those ring tones would wake me up, but that’s because I can’t stand noise in the morning, especially recently. Most ringtones agitate me. My first alarm clock ruined me. Its alarm started off soft and then swelled up into a blaring horn, and I really just hate alarm clock noises forever now. Even if it’s a nice, gentle piece that I would normally like (when I’m not asleep), I can’t stand it. Can’t stand it. Awful. A necessary evil.

    *shudder*

Although, speaking of reactions and noises, it could be explained by Asperger’s. I find out in like ten days if I get that diagnosis or not. Fun.

You have a nice voice, by the way.

Ugh. My ex-husband had an alarm like that. But he had to wake up at 5am and our daughter and I didn’t. Also, he was a heavy sleeper and neither of us were. She also has night terrors. I’d end up sleeping on a futon in her room most nights.

So, every morning, I’d hear it across the hall when it was making the quiet, gentle alarm. Then I’d sprint into the room to turn it off before she’d wake up, too. I’d follow this by waking him up, but he responded to being woken up by a person by yelling. That would wake her up, and she’s one of those people who can’t go back to sleep once she’s awake. And he’d be irritated at me for not letting his alarm go mega loud and waking him the way he wanted to be awoken.

      He’s my ex-husband.

Unfortunately I have to set my alarm to the most annoying one i can find. Since I’m s sleep talker (i can have a full conversation with you and still be asleep ) i need something that annoys me to the point that I’ll wake up for real. But seriously with all the new fancy phones you should get something you a likem

“Christian Rock” is definitely the one that wakes me up for work in the mornings.
Only because I’ve thought the same thing you’re talking about and it’s the least “go back to sleep” option on the list -.-

Haha maybe they’re like my old blackberry alarms? You just have to wait for them to transition from pleasant advert jingle to blaring mindfuck.

Also, my partner used that guitar-folk-album one for a bit and hearing it in your video triggered some autonomic fight-or-flight response in me. So yeah, just condition yourself to fear them.

I wake up with morning mood by Edvard Grieg – I downloaded an app so that I could use it with my cellphone because THAT’S how much I love waking up to morning mood.

In case you were wondering it’s the one that all the really old cartoons used to play when morning came.

    link.

I just got around to watching this and I just wanted to thank you for multiple LOL moments, I needed that! I agree, that one sounds like the ads for Michigan and I was ROFL at the whole Lizzie Bennett/Mr. Darcy thing, I could picture it! Why can’t things be standardized like this, I hate hate hate going through this (and all the other crap)every time I buy a new phone.

“Pure Michigan…bullshit!” is a phrase regularly expressed at our house, especially in the Winter. I heard those damn commercials so much when I was on hold with the unemployment office, that I wanted to find Tim Allen and slap him personally.

Delilah is still around, and I swear that she gets good and baked before going on the air. That woman always sounds high as fuck.
