{"id":10537,"date":"2016-07-18T10:00:10","date_gmt":"2016-07-18T14:00:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/jennytrout.com\/?p=10537"},"modified":"2016-07-19T11:22:58","modified_gmt":"2016-07-19T15:22:58","slug":"the-doctor-wishes-a-time-lady-happy-birthday","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jennytrout.com\/?p=10537","title":{"rendered":"The Doctor Wishes The Author Happy Birthday!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Now,\u00a0you may not have picked up on this (because I&#8217;m so subtle about it), but I\u00a0love\u00a0<em>Doctor Who<\/em> just a teensy little bit.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/jennytrout.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/IMG_20150113_182034113-1.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-10539\" src=\"https:\/\/jennytrout.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/IMG_20150113_182034113-1-1024x974.jpg\" alt=\"Me, wearing an ugly sweater with a dog on it, showing off fresh knuckle tattoos that spell out &quot;Time Lady&quot;\" width=\"470\" height=\"447\" srcset=\"https:\/\/jennytrout.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/IMG_20150113_182034113-1-1024x974.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/jennytrout.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/IMG_20150113_182034113-1-300x285.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 470px) 100vw, 470px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>So much so that, in addiction to mutilating myself in tribute, I also legally changed one of my middle names to Gallifrey, the Doctor&#8217;s home planet.<\/p>\n<p>Friday was my birthday, and\u00a0my friend Petra (who comments on this blog, you&#8217;ve probably seen her around) and her son, Connor (who know of my love for The Doctor)\u00a0had a connection who could make my entire birthday:<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/RYGTyIbOwYs\" width=\"420\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>When I first saw this in my Twitter DMs, I was like, &#8220;Oh, cool, Petra sent me a video of Peter Capaldi.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Then he said my NAME.<\/p>\n<p>The screaming, the shouting, the running around. Everything was high pitched. It was beautiful.<\/p>\n<p>So, first of all, I&#8217;m going to say that Peter Capaldi? Is a freaking stand-up guy. He didn&#8217;t have to do this. He was at work, he had other things on his mind. But he did it anyway, for a fan. That&#8217;s how much he cares about Whovians. He had the opportunity to make a stranger who loves his show happy. What a great dude.<\/p>\n<p>Second, how awesome are Petra and Connor and their super secret connection? The super secret connection, by the way, was a guy who was nervous to approach Capaldi in the first place, so big hugs and thank yous to that guy, too.<\/p>\n<p>This was one of the most thoughtful birthday surprises ever, and I&#8217;ve only watched it about a billion times. The best part? He says I went to the Academy. So, basically, I&#8217;m an official Time Lady. I&#8217;m insisting this is canon.
