Hey everybody! I’m going away for a week for my amazing annual writing pilgrimage to Gay, Michigan. It’s here:

a google map of Michigan with Gay marked with a little round divot thing. Gay is located in Michigan's Keweenaw peninsula, the northern-most "fin" of Michigan's land-mass.

We’ll be staying at our usual cabin, right on the shores of the incredible inland sea, Lake Superior:

A stunning view of Lake Superior, framed by trees.

And, like so many years past, I’ll be working on the next Neil and Sophie book while staring at this beautiful view. I’ll also be visiting her hometown of Calumet, to buy groceries at the Pat’s, as is our ancient tradition.

Everybody have a great week!

I’ll be on the other side (Canada side) of Lake Superior the first week of July. It’s a beautiful lake. Have fun on your retreat!

Stupidly excited about the next Sophie Scaife adventures! <3 I was wondering do you have anyone check your British-isms? I love the series so much but I've noticed some of the scenes involved with your Brit characters it can be a bit jarring (as an English reader) when they talk to each other using Americanisms like cell phones etc. Hope you don't mind me throwing my random feedback in here, I'm just rereading the Girlfriend and you've helped me with my writing so much through this blog, I thought I'd mention it 🙂 ramble over!

Man, write away! I’ve had writer’s block/depression for about a year; I miss it but can’t get into it.
