I agree with you about so much re: the Jossverse (especially Fred, fuck what happened to Fred – I know Joss was balls-deep in Firefly at the time so the blame may partly belong to Noxon, Greenwalt, et al who were at the helm, but the nuking of one of Joss’s favourite characters had to have been consensual) but I just can’t accept your judgment on Dollhouse. I admit I’m a big Dushku fan (and the rest of the cast is also pretty engaging) so I’m biased, but the whole point of the show isn’t “wheee mindless girls being badass and sexy”, it’s “this technology is problematic (so problematic it – spoiler alert – causes an apocalypse) and the human mind/soul/whatever is actually not that easy to just override”. I know it is not a perfect show from a feminist standpoint, even taking the bigger arcs into account, but it’s also much more complex about its approach to ethics, gender/class relations, and the ramifications of modern technology than you can really get out of an episode or two.
…Just sayin’.
