This is just a quick note to let you all know that I’m going away on family vacation this week. Does it seem like I’m constantly traveling? If it does, it’s probably just because I’m CONSTANTLY TRAVELING. After September, I think I have a whole month where I don’t have to leave or do anything.
The Merlin Club post will go up as scheduled on Friday, but I’ll be absent for #MerlinClub on Monday night because the hotel we’re staying in on Mackinac Island doesn’t have wifi.
In other news, I was on a local daytime show in Grand Rapids, MI this past week:
Notice that super cool dress? That’s from ModCloth.com. The next time you see me on TV, I’ll be wearing ModCloth, because they’ve graciously offered to dress me.
When I get back from vacation, I’ll have pictures of my recent cosplays, a new chapter of The Afflicted, and hopefully another Buffy recap.
I own way too many Modcloth dresses.
I own like, two. So when this box came and I got to try everything on, it was cool. It felt like being in a ModCloth store or something.
That sounds like SO MUCH FUN.
Have fun at Mackinac Island, Jenny! Eat lots of fudge!
Oh, count on it.
Have fun! Hope it’s warm enough to swim this time. Has Michigan had an unusually cool summer like Wisconsin?
My kids will probably swim, but it’s been a really cold summer here. I think it’s in the sixties today, when usually it would be in the upper eighties.
Great interview! Have a fun time on vacation, Mackinac Island is on my list of places I want to go to. You will have to be sure to share some of your ModCloth pieces on the blog, I’ve been kind of curious about their clothing but haven’t bought anything yet. Cool that they offered to dress you, I can’t wait to see what else you get to wear. Do you get to keep the pieces?
I don’t know if I get to keep them, but they’re gonna look awesome on TV.
Oh wow! Used to watch this show all the time when I last lived in that neck of the woods. Cool! Great interview. Enjoy your vacation. I am envious. Would you believe I was born and raised in Michigan, both upper and lower, and have never visited Mackinaw Island? Heard it is fabulous. *sigh* Some day . . .
YAYYYYYY!!!! Another Buffy recap!!!
*ahem* Sorry. *lurks again*
Awesome interview. Well done you! And I really love that dress, you look amazing.
God, you were so poised. Way to go, Jenny! Have fun on your vacation.
I love modcloth! They are permanently on my amazon wishlist! I’m not plus sized, but I always thought it was cool that the plus sized options were exactly like the “regular” ones! I love buying from a site that has a positive and inclusive outlook! Ps you look amazing in that dress! And so poised on tv!
I can’t believe no one else has said: Cosplays??!?!??!!! Tell us more!!!!
Great interview! And the modcloth dress was so freaking cute.
And yes, I too am interested in the cosplays!!!!
I have that dress too, I love it!
You look great! I really like your swimsuit & the dress. The photo of you at the rock reminds me of a pinup photo. 🙂
I’ve never worn anything from ModCloth, will check them out. I like eShakti, they have great clothes and the sizes run up to 32 (yayyy for me!), plus you can pick alterations (sleeve length, skirt length).
Hey, Jenny, I wondered if you’d seen this yet: http://msutoday.msu.edu/news/2014/reading-fifty-shades-linked-to-unhealthy-behaviors/
“The researchers studied more than 650 women aged 18-24, a prime period for exploring greater sexual intimacy in relationships, Bonomi said. Compared to participants who didn’t read the book, those who read the first “Fifty Shades” novel were 25 percent more likely to have a partner who yelled or swore at them; 34 percent more likely to have a partner who demonstrated stalking tendencies; and more than 75 percent more likely to have used diet aids or fasted for more than 24 hours.”
I thought you were great, Jenny, but I definitely cringed at your interviewers. I kind of felt as if they missed the point. Wearing the bikini didn’t occur to me as being about being ‘beautiful’, it was about not giving any fucks about what society thinks bodies should look like. Also, ‘struggling with their weight’ is a phrase which definitely generated a grimace.
